our vision:

greater things

In John 1:50 and in John 14:12 Jesus promised His disciples they would see and do greater things. He invited His followers to have a role in bringing about the brighter and better tomorrow God has promised. Our desire at Anthem Church is to enjoy an active role in fulfilling God's good plans. We are here to see and do GREATER THINGS for the glory of God and the good of others.

God has given us a clear vision for the greater things He wants us to accomplish. Here are the seven gospel bridges we are building to transform Angier and the world.

  1. Community Center: Convert our facility into a community center. We desire for our building to serve our community in various ways throughout the week. Our hope is to leverage our building for the sake of the gospel. For example, in January 2017 the Angier Area Food Pantry moved into our building. They help feed over 900 people every month. In February, 2017 an organization began using our building for ESL classes. In June 2017 an American Heritage Girls troop will begin to utilize our space.
  2. Biblical Counseling Program: Hire biblical counselors uniquely gifted to help individuals during difficult seasons, disciple them, and help them find hope in the gospel. Angier desperately needs biblical counselors.
  3. Housing Ministry: Purchase dilapidated houses in town, rebuild them, house struggling individuals/families, help get them on their feet, and disciple them in the faith.
  4. Kids' Ministry: Subsidize and support a daycare, pre-school, after school tutoring/mentoring program that ministers to kids, youth, and families throughout the week.
  5. Elderly Daycare: Provide a place where senior citizens, who live with their children but cannot be left alone during the day, can enjoy fun activities and be cared for.
  6. Church Plant: Plant a church in the fast-growing McGee's Crossroads area, and help church planting networks plant churches in various strategic locations throughout NC. We are currently supporting a church plant in Teachey, NC.
  7. Sport Disciple: Financially support this ministry in Haiti and through mission trips (www.sportdisciple.com). We are already supporting Sport Disciple and want to be part of helping them to reach more and more children in Haiti.

OUR NEED:

GREaTER THINGS

One of the reasons Anthem Church has grown so quickly and been such a force for good is due to the space we currently utilize. God blessed us with a wonderful facility in a great location big enough to afford the necessary space to continue to grow. Our building has served as a beachhead from which to build a gospel bridge into our community.

We find ourselves in a unique situation. We have to purchase the building. Our landlord is looking to sell the property and has given us first right of refusal. If we don't buy the property, we'll have to find an alternative location. The problem with that is that there are NO COMPARABLE buildings in Angier. All other options are significantly smaller, more expensive, and not as well located. Biblical stewardship principles and the gospel mission point us in one direction: Invest in our current facility. There is no other property in town as well suited for us to expand our gospel impact in Angier.

Our vision is not about brick and mortar. It's about bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to bear upon the lives of people. Toward that end, it is vital to have a base of operations from which to carry out our gospel-mission. We believe our current facility offers us the best location from which to carry out our vision.

Angier needs a church like Anthem!

We are the first new church in Angier in over 30 years. We are a church reaching different people than the established churches. • Host FREE Yard Sale in which we give away donated clothing, furniture, appliances, toys, etc. to people in need
  • Annually, power wash sidewalks in downtown business district and clean storefronts and bathrooms for FREE

growth is coming

Our opportunity

As of 2012 over 25,000 people live within a 5 mile radius of downtown Angier (an increase of 40.8% in population since 2000). The majority of the people and families in Angier are not connected to a Christ-centered church. The gospel opportunity before us is tremendous!

Harnett County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state, and very soon Angier will become one of the fastest growing towns in North Carolina. The NC D.O.T has already scheduled major work to get ahead of the projected growth. Residential developers are purchasing land to build homes. Angier is on the brink of a massive population explosion. We want to be the church in Angier that connects with all the new people who will be moving to town.

God's Vision

YOur Support

The vision God has given to Anthem Church is bigger than Anthem Church. We are seeking partners who can come alongside and offer support that we may fulfill the GREATER THINGS God has placed before us.

Our vision not about a building but about God using us to build His church. We're here to bring the gospel to bear upon the lives of people in Angier and the world.

We are looking to raise $500k to fund the vision. We are confident this is achievable. After all, God owns the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. We're excited to have a front row seat in witnessing God's provision and faithfulness. Here's our prayer"May God stir up the hearts of many to give generously and enable Anthem Church to continue to build a gospel bridge in Angier and the world."

Will you partner with us and help to fund the greater work God has placed before us? When you give, designate your gift toward GREATER THINGS by clicking on the "Giving Type" drop down box. Thank you and may God bless you!
