In John 1:50 and in John 14:12 Jesus promised His disciples they would see and do greater things. He invited His followers to have a role in bringing about the brighter and better tomorrow God has promised. Our desire at Anthem Church is to enjoy an active role in fulfilling God's good plans. We are here to see and do GREATER THINGS for the glory of God and the good of others.
God has given us a clear vision for the greater things He wants us to accomplish. Here are the seven gospel bridges we are building to transform Angier and the world.
- Community Center: Convert our facility into a community center. We desire for our building to serve our community in various ways throughout the week. Our hope is to leverage our building for the sake of the gospel. For example, in January 2017 the Angier Area Food Pantry moved into our building. They help feed over 900 people every month. In February, 2017 an organization began using our building for ESL classes. In September 2017 we provided the use of our facility for a Self-Defense (Tae Kwan Do) program for children and adults.
- Biblical Counseling Program: Hire biblical counselors uniquely gifted to help individuals during difficult seasons, disciple them, and help them find hope in the gospel. Angier desperately needs biblical counselors.
- Housing Ministry: Purchase dilapidated houses in town, rebuild them, house struggling individuals/families, help get them on their feet, and disciple them in the faith.
- Kids' Ministry: Subsidize and support a daycare, pre-school, after school tutoring/mentoring program that ministers to kids, youth, and families throughout the week.
- Elderly Daycare: Provide a place where senior citizens, who live with their children but cannot be left alone during the day, can enjoy fun activities and be cared for.
- Church Plant: Plant a church in the fast-growing McGee's Crossroads area, and help church planting networks plant churches in various strategic locations throughout NC. We are currently supporting a church plant in Teachey, NC.
- Sport Disciple: Financially support this ministry in Haiti and through mission trips (www.sportdisciple.com). We are already supporting Sport Disciple and want to be part of helping them to reach more and more children in Haiti.
